Occupying nearly a full city block of the town of Lemmon, South Dakota, the Lemmon Petrified Wood Park is a curiosity of both geology and architecture. It’s also the largest of its kind park, with petrified dinosaur and mammoth bones dating back an estimated 50 million years, spires up to 20 feet tall and a castle constructed with petrified wood.
