Kinetic Energy

kinetic-energy

Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. An object that has motion – whether it is vertical or horizontal motion – has kinetic energy. There are many forms of kinetic energy – vibrational (the energy due to vibrational motion), rotational (the energy due to rotational motion), and translational (the energy due to motion from one location to another). To keep matters simple, we will focus upon translational kinetic energy. The amount of translational kinetic energy (from here on, the phrase kinetic energy will refer to translational kinetic energy) that an object has depends upon two variables: the mass (m) of the object and the speed (v) of the object. The following equation is used to represent the kinetic energy (KE) of an object.

Venturi Valves

IMI Flow Design’s ventures are accurate within 3% or better.  This kind of accuracy comes from a simple Venturi geometry made with CNC machinery and provides a signal pressure which is higher than the permanent loss through the valve.  Most other kinds of differential pressure flow meters are less accurate because they depend on too many variables.

Multi Zone Single Phase Ductless Split Systems

multizone

The new 60K Btu/h Multi F MAX is a single phase, compact and efficient outdoor unit that provides zone control for up to eight indoor units with a combined ratio up to 1.2, allowing occupants to control individual room temperatures and offering designers increased flexibility and efficiency.  The Multi F MAX is compatible with many indoor models, giving designers numerous indoor unit choices to complement the décor.

Lakota warrior Chief Crazy Horse

South Dakota is famously home to Mount Rushmore, but it’s also been making room for a second colossal mountain carving that, when finished, will dwarf the four presidents.

The sculpture in progress is of the Lakota warrior Chief Crazy Horse astride a stallion with his arm and pointed hand stretched out over the horse’s mane. It’s taking awhile. The Crazy Horse Memorial — taller than the Washington Monument and well over two football fields wide — has been 64 years in the making. And problems in the underlying rock are now forcing the sculptors to deviate from the original model.

Sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski began the project 1948.

Remote Temperature Button Sensor

remote-sensor

The Remote Temperature Button Sensor is discreet and easy to install in single and multi-zone cassettes and ducted models. The round design requires a 7/16” hole at the mounting location and is secured to the wall with a peel-off tape strip. Only a flush 7/8” dot is visible on the wall or ceiling and can be painted with typical interior wall paint.

Wild Bill

WILDBILL

Hickok was born and raised on a farm in rural Illinois. He went west at age 18 as a fugitive from justice, first working as a stagecoach driver, then as a lawman in the frontier territories of Kansas and Nebraska. He fought (and spied) for the Union Army during the American Civil War and gained publicity after the war as a scout, marksman, actor and professional gambler. Hickok was involved in several notable shootouts.
